Field trip to Troy, NY
Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center
Early this spring I was fortunate enough to be given a tour of this grand project. Steve Coats a long time friend and Project manager for Turner Construction, the GC, gave me a tour. Over 1 million dollars worth of cedar grace the curved exterior. The theme is of a ship in a bottle. It presented some challenges to say the least. An excellent project and very well done. Many thanks to Steve and Turner Construction.
Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center – Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (eMPAC), in Troy, N.Y., a 217,000 sq. ft. 400-seat theater, studios, radio station and 1,200-seat concert hall.
